Furniture Info

Our furniture is handcrafted and hand-finished. No two pieces of wood are exactly the same, so each furniture item is truly unique. There may be slight variations in the grain, number of knots or the overall look of the surface. With rustic pine pieces, you can expect rough surfaces, cracks and markings. These are not considered flaws; rather, this uniqueness contributes to the rustic charm of each item.

Furniture Care

As wood is exposed to the elements, some minimal shrinkage or swelling can be expected. During the winter months, it is important to use a humidifier in your home to maintain levels at 45% relative humidity. In the summer, humidity levels should never exceed 50% relative humidity. These are available at hardware stores and are helpful at monitoring humidity levels.

Avoid hot items or water on surfaces. These will result in white rings. Protective padding such as tablecloths, placemats, coasters, or hot pads is recommended. Avoid placing furniture in direct sunlight, or near heat registers or wood stoves. Fading, drying, or cracking may result. A damp cloth may be used to dust your furniture. Do not use wax or polish with products containing silicone. Do not store table leaves in the basement as the dampness may contribute to swelling.
